When Hoss Farm workers picketed Money's Mushrooms, members of the Retail Wholesale Union refused to cross the line, shutting down the plant.

The strike came at a time when the anti-labour B.C. government was in the process of gutting the labour code. Under new regulations, secondary picketing was outlawed and the Hoss workers were barred from picketing at Money's after two days.
